over Christmas break, I plan to get some extra sleep, hang out with my friends and family, and do some fun stuff. this break will give me a chance to just relax and not worry about school work. this year for christmas, I really don't want anything, but if I had to pick a couple of things, it would be stuff from Victoria's secret pink and some stuff from the Nike store. being able to play club volleyball is a gift itself. I am also hoping that new years eve and new years day is fun and I probably won't make a new years resolution because every time I make one, I never stick to it. happy holidays!

            

  

college feedback

when I go to college, I plan to take how ever many years of college to become a physical therapist. In order to become A physical therapist,  I would most likely have to major in kinesiology to learn about the human body and the way it works and such. I am going to college for myself because no one is going to do my work for me, thats a decision that I have to make myself. Going to college gives you options depending on your major and how many years you stay in college. the type of crowd and people that you like to be around is an important part to remember when choosing a college because it is not the best to be in an environment where you are miserable all the time. I would use my older sisters input on college because she has been in college for about three years now and she has faced a couple of issues dealing with her skin color or race. Although she likes the college and its a good school , there are still a number of things that could be better at Texas Tech University.  Although going to college is not mandatory,  without a college diploma and education, your options for a good career are narrowed. if I go to college and keep my eyes on the prize and fight for what I really want to be in life, then I will be successful in life. There will be tons of distractions and maybe even negative people that attempt to stir you in the wrong direction,  but I cant let all of the extra stuff get in the way of my future.

thanksgiving break 2014

my plans for thanksgiving break consist of hanging out with my family and friends, eating a great thanksgiving dinner, black Friday shopping, and getting extra sleep and playing volleyball. I will also be running and working out my abs too. And I will be making sure that I am getting my homework done. But I hope this thanksgiving break is a good one!

job: sonic

For a job, I selected Sonic which is a fast food drive in. They begin hiring at 15 and I think that it would be a fun job to do. I'd probably be a server at sonic and my job would be to take orders and make accurate change quickly, serve the guest with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, package all menu items and check for product quality and consistency, prepare drinks, slushes, and ice cream treats. I would also have to prepare food orders, cook on the grill, operate the fry station as needed and cleaning the drive in which include trash disposal, mopping, and washing the dirty areas. this job in particular is looking for friendly and welcoming workers who enjoy providing pleasant and courtesy to the guest and team members who have a passion for working at Sonic. This job is also looking for individuals who are team players and committed to keeping the Sonic drive-in clean and nice looking. I would like to work here because Sonic is all about having fun while working and gaining a sense of accomplishment along the way. And not only will I be working with fantastic people, I will also be getting money and who doesn't like money? They also have flexible hours and they will work with your schedule and they have radical uniforms, well at least I think that they're cool! But I am considering this job for Summer 2015.

homeless to harvard: liz murray

I really enjoyed the movie "Homeless to Harvard". It made me appreciate what I had more considering that the main character, Elizabeth was eating out of the trashcan, had no where to sleep, and both of her parents were on drugs. my favorite part of the movie was when Liz decided that she wanted to stop living the homeless life and try to get in to school. She eventually received a scholarship from "New York Times" to go to Harvard. She was so happy because of this achievement and she chased after her goals and not to mention that she finished high school in only two years. She wanted to be different than her mom, dad , and grandmother and actually go out and do something with her life. And she did, with hard work and dedication, you can accomplish your goals.

The most surprising thing about my blog was the pricing of everything. I realized that I need to get focused and take everything more serious. I need to learn how to make smarter choices with money and to stop spending money like its nothing. I did not expect for the food to cost that much. And I will start preparing now by saving money, making smarter decisions with the money that I get each week, and finding a job in Summer 2015 to help me start preparing for college which is in less than two years. It will be here in no time and it is always good to prepare for something huge like college years before I actually even go.

A career that I want to have when I grow up is become a veterinarian (animal doctor). I chose this career because I love animals and I like learning new things about them, taking care of them, and making sure that they are healthy. veterinarians make about $91,250 annually.
Veterinarians administer vaccines, do health check-ups, clean teeth, fix broken bones, treat skin infections and perform surgeries. Another aspect of a veterinarian's career may involve inspecting the living spaces of animals on farms or ranches to ensure that they are free from possible sources of infection. Some veterinarians specialize in a particular disease or condition and may be consulted only in special cases.
Veterinarians have to give lethal injections to animals when they become old or terminally ill. Vets who own their own businesses may have to perform administrative duties, supervise veterinary techs and manage other staff members. Veterinarians should be comfortable with animals and people and be willing to undergo many years of schooling before entering this profession.

I received a 10 on my stress test on C-Health. The things that stress me out the most are school, family issues, sports, and drama. Things like this causes me to have melt downs and very bad breakouts. When I am depressed or stressed about something, I usually just eat a great amount of junk food to make me feel better. But if my sadness turns into anger, I tend to blow up very easily and get a really short temper. But I am currently trying to work on my reaction when I find myself stressed out or depressed. I'll try to think about something positive or a fun event that's coming up in the future and that usually helps my stress out greatly.

My current organization method is just making sure I put each subject in a different folder so I can keep track of what I am doing in each class. I also keep a planner and right down what I do in each class so I can refer back to it when I need to. procrastination hurts because if you wait until the last minute to complete your assignment, you might risk messing up on something and it is very stressful to try to get everything together the day before the task or assignment is do. I can fight procrastination by telling my self that the assignment or task is due way earlier than it is really due. that would make me want to do it as soon as I receive it.

My name is Tatum Rose Thornton, my birthday is August 28th, and I love to have fun. I'm pretty tall for a girl (5'9), but I love my height, especially when it comes to volleyball. I participate in three sports which are volleyball, cheerleading, and my least favorite which is track. I chose to be in college transition this year because I want to learn how to fill out a college application and I want to learn everything I need to know about entering college so I wont be lost when I go into my senior year.
